What You Can Expect

This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of comprehensive and effective marketing plans, and budgets, that are aligned with the Global Portfolio strategy framework, to achieve Zimmer Biomet’s revenue, market share and margin growth objectives and optimize market opportunities across the APAC region. He/she leads and manages the new product launch process, clearly defining pre- and post-launch strategies and tactics and closely tracking launch executions in local level. He/she is responsible for identifying met and unmet customer needs and to proactively work with the Global Business Unit to ensure APAC needs are incorporated in global new product developments. He/she is responsible for working effectively cross-functionally, to manage the segment product and technology portfolio, driving top-line growth and maximizing margin gains.  He/she supports the APAC BU Vice President, SET & CMFT, in the preparation of Market Models, Strategic Plan, AOP, regional and corporate RGLs, and competitive updates.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy / Business Plan / Budget / New Product Launch Management

Develop, implement and review responsible segment portfolio strategies (3-5 y) and ensure and support tactical execution by assisting in establishing local launch plans including promotional activities, pricing, targeting and positioning.  Lead, guide and align inputs from countries and consolidate regional needs, for segment Market Models, Strat Plan and AOP budgeting, and periodic updates.  And work closely with GBU, Pricing and Regional MedEd, CA, RA and Legal to drive implementation of the segment strategies.

Business Reviews

Conduct regular business reviews with local BU team, incl. marketing, to analyse sales trends, performance versus market growth, key account management and identify market gaps/needs, issues and business opportunities and ensure communication thereof to the Global Brand Management and other relevant departments.

Segment Direction / Share and Reapply / Identification of Needs and Gaps

Establish and proactively communicate clear regional segment needs, gaps, strategies and execution to corporate and headquarter functions, the local Marketing team and country BU leads. Initiate and build strong working relationships between Global Brand and local Sales and Marketing. Facilitate sharing & application of best marketing concepts and strategies within the region and encourage discussions and exchange on general topics.

Ongoing Market and Product Support

Work with local marketing, distributors, sales associates, corporate departments and external customers on regular basis and enhance the awareness and understanding of products, strategies and procedures through frequent and targeted communications.

Field Work / Conferences / Regional Customer Relationships

Participates in conventions and professional exhibitions to represent the company and maximize share of voice for segment’s focus brands.  Develops and maintains subject matter expertise, and forges partnerships with key surgeons and customers, by working with local team and in surgery, and participating in medical/scientific meetings.  Gathers and timely reports competitive insights.

Forecast / Projections / E&O Management

Work closely with regional Finance, Commercial Ops and IBP, and local country teams to improve projection forecast accuracy and supplies, by identifying opportunities and threats in a timely manner and preparing long range, annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasts for each product line. Analyses forecast variances and recommends corrective actions to minimize future back orders or potential obsolescence. Reviews forecast for product requirements and originates plans and objectives to continually be competitive with or ahead of market needs.

Training & Education (Internal & External)

Develop and implement regional Extremities product knowledge and clinical skills training strategies to help building up a professional sales force focusing on total disease treatment with advanced selling skills and product know-how. Works closely with and assists MedEd to develop HCP education programs, that are aligned with the Global and Regional segment strategy.

What Makes You Stand Out Strong ability in tactical execution for Sales Training and in-field interactions with KOLsStrong regionally oriented conviction and ability to develop, write and present effective sales and marketing training plans, coordinated and closely aligned with overall marketing organization and global counterpartsSolid understanding of market needs, market trends, competitive forces, and new technologies.Experienced in optimizing promotional activities and multi-channel promotionsProven track record in Sales and Distributor Training and an experience of working with KOLs in Sports MedicineExperienced in conducting customer segmentation and targeting approachesReferences for establishing and maintaining positive rapports with country marketing and sales, and global Product Engines in the US and/or EMEA.Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities, and sustain a high level of energy and concentration in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and willingness to work flexible hours.Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and engage counterparts and realign diverting opinions and needs.Excellent oral and written English communication skills (Mandarin or Japanese a plus).Experienced in cross-cultural and matrix environments.Your Background Bachelor or Master’s degree in the Sciences.Good understanding of the Sports Medicine market environment through customer contact, literature, seminars and other educational programs.Experience of the Orthopedic Reconstructive market will be a good add-on.Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in sales and/or marketing in the area of Sports Medicine with at least 3 years’ experience in a Regional Marketing role required for full manager position.Travel Expectations
