Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate Manager, Quality Engineering to lead and support quality initiatives within our operations. This role is responsible for driving quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant standards. The successful candidate will manage a team of quality engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance product reliability, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve manufacturing and supplier quality processes.
Essential Responsibilities
This position will have responsibilities and perform tasks in the following areas:
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Engineers to ensure effective execution of quality initiatives.
+ Oversee quality management system (QMS) compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
+ Manage root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Develop and implement statistical process controls (SPC), risk management strategies, and defect prevention programs.
+ Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards.
+ Work closely with manufacturing, design, and supply chain teams to drive quality improvements and reduce defects.
+ Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
+ Lead material review board (MRB) activities and ensure timely disposition of non-conforming products.
+ Drive supplier quality assurance activities, including supplier audits, performance monitoring, and improvement plans.
+ Utilize Lean Six Sigma, FMEA, and 8D methodologies to enhance product and process quality.
+ Ensures quality engineering effectively reviews, interprets, and flows down customer requirements and contractual requirements to the program office, manufacturing, and inspection.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of six years prior relevant experience. Graduate degree with a minimum of four years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, ten years minimum prior relevant experience.
+ Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
+ Hands-on working experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries preferred.
+ Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001, AS9100 and supplier quality management.
+ Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
+ Have sufficient financial background to perform, lead and mentor Cost Account Management (CAM) activity within the team
+ Knowledge of Electro Static Discharge (ESD) control and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention systems
+ Ability to make decisions and be a perfomance oriented / self-starter
+ Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, SPC, DOE) and quality improvement techniques.
+ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
