Job Summary

We are searching for a candidate to provide regulatory support for IFF Health and Biosciences business unit with focus on dietary supplement ingredients in Korea. The successful candidate will work as part of a global regulatory team within IFF Health and collaborate with internal business partners including R&D, Quality, Commercial and Marketing, and Legal in providing governance and interpretation of food and dietary supplement requirements in Korea. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing appropriate regulatory submissions to support the development, manufacturing, marketing and commercialization of dietary ingredients comprised of a blend of various ingredients. The candidate may also represent IFF within trade association and industry meetings and meet with appropriate Regulatory authorities including MFDS.

This role requires continuous regulatory diligence of Korean regulations for food, dietary supplements and Health Functional Foods.  Regulatory guidance based on existing statutes and emerging regulatory trends relevant to product import, compliance, safety determination and efficacy will be key to the success of the role.  This role also owns the responsibility of preparing and submitting regulatory dossiers for ingredients intended for use in food or dietary supplement and health functional food products in Korea. 

How you will Contribute

Responsible for the preparation of regulatory submissions including dossiers for health functional foods, novel foods, processing aids, health claims and other relevant regulatory documents or submissions.Collaborate with internal IFF Global Regulatory Strategy Lead and relevant Global Product Managers to implement relevant strategic efforts for dietary ingredients in Korea, including probiotics, postbiotics, botanicals and bioscience ingredients.Responsible for providing regulatory guidance to IFF Quality team for aspects of product compliance including GMPs and product labeling.Assists in responding to customer inquiries.Maintain current knowledge of the developments and changes to regulations, industry standards, and assist in the dissemination of this information to the appropriate internal stakeholders.Interpret new and existing regulatory requirements, policies, and guidance as they relate to the products and initiates actions to assure compliance to these regulations.Review of scientific literature and data from clinical trials to support health benefit statements and marketing of dietary ingredients and relevant products.Represent IFF at relevant industry groups and regulatory authorities including MFDS and regional associations.

What you will need to be successful

Masters Degree in food science, microbiology or related disciplinesEight-plus years of relevant experience in a similar industryExcellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong verbal and written skills in English.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload to meet multiple deadlinesGood Project Management skillsProficient in the use of computers and possess a working knowledge of associated office software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
