The associate manager is a hands-on manager in training role, allowing partners to develop and prepare for retail store leadership. This role will work closely with other leaders to develop an understanding of how the Starbucks Reserve retail business operates and learn what it means to lead and manage with operational excellence. The associate manager will be introduced to multiple areas of the store’s business, with most of their time learning how to lead a team within a specific zone within the location. This role will drive customer experience and business results by developing a high performing team.
This associate manager will support our Reserve Kitchen zone within the Chicago Roastery. This zone is responsible for bringing our innovative culinary playbook to life. The Reserve Kitchen zone is comprised of our baker team, those who handcraft our food products, and our barista team, responsible for providing legendary customer service while showcasing our offerings.
Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading a team of store partners to create and maintain the Roastery & Reserve Experience for our customers and partners and assisting the operations manager(s) in executing store operations. The associate manager is responsible for managing business operations in assigned operational zones with direction from the operations manager(s). The associate manager must also ensure customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and product quality through a team of partners. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
