Associate Manager, Strategic Sourcing

What you’ll be doing:

Manage Strategic Sourcing Events and RFQ’s an effective Domestic Sourcing strategy.Negotiate proposals with suppliers that can meet Staples’ cost, quality, and service requirements for Own Brand products.Communicate and gather inputs across our business, collaborating with our Global Sourcing, Quality, and Product teams.Perform detailed Net Cost analysis factoring all business requirements to present a recommendation for Sourcing decisions.Monitor cost model trends using proprietary software and recommend cost management actions from the developed insights.Manage relationships with new and existing suppliers, communicating our standards and requirements, and working to resolve any issues related to product quality, safety, and operational performance.

What you bring to the table:

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Proactive and strategic thinking.Strong organizational and project management skills.Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalent work experience5+ years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, or Merchandising

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager).Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in strategic sourcing.
