Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Associate Supplier Manager is responsible for monitoring, measuring, and maximizing supplier profitability and operational performance. This role will also identify areas of opportunity for improvements through root cause research and resolution and manage the business relationship with a small subset of supplier partners. Essential FunctionsDUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, monitor, and track supplier profitability and operational performance opportunities for supplier partners through the following actions: Improvement of brand scorecard.Compliance with inbound and outbound service standards.Execution and negotiation of supplier policies and procedures.Supplier inbound routing guide expectations. Administrative aspects of supplier partnerships. Manage and improve supplier profitability and operational performance negotiations, execution of policies and procedures, deduction management, dispute resolutions, on-time delivery, and compliance with delivery quality standards. Support suppliers with root cause research and resolution on administrative aspects of supplier partnerships in partnership with Supplier Manager. Monitor, research, and answer tickets on ticketing portal along with providing support to suppliers on the phone and email. Analyze tickets in ticketing portal to identify common trends and communicate to teams internally on areas of improvements and opportunities. Create and foster a positive, relational environment with suppliers to ensure continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation. Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of supplier questions and disputes, along with providing performance metrics and facilitating processes and supplier business improvement initiatives.Provide guidance to keep suppliers accountable for key profitability and operational performance indicators such as terms, spoils, value-added programs, inbound fill rate, on-time quality, and delivery. Educate new and small suppliers on policies and procedures, inbound routing guide, deduction management, and dispute resolutions.Host business reviews periodically with supplier partners to review and outline profitability and performance expectations in comparison to actual performance, discuss areas of improvement and opportunity.Other duties and projects as assigned.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner both verbally and written. Ability to articulate and persuade effectively through presentations. Successful negotiator and ability to influence change. Ability to synthesize data and provide clear, concise recommendations. Strong relationship management skills and ability to provide guidance to higher management levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Demonstrate attention to detail and sense of urgency. Ability to manage a wide array of tasks simultaneously and often with minimal direction.Willingness to travel domestically, occasionally over weekends for about 10% of time. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, AptitudeEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or related field of study required.Minimum of 1+ years of experience within the food and/or distribution industry required.
