About the Team
DoorDash is looking for an experienced Associate Manager, Indirect Tax Technology to join our growing Tax Team. This role will be a key contributor to the Indirect Tax Team and will be responsible for supporting the tax calculation platform function.
As DoorDash continues to grow its global footprint across multiple business lines, we are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of project management who will support and grow our unique social community via your strong technical tax knowledge, project management and relationship building skills with cross-functional teams.
About the Role
The Associate Manager will report to the Tax Technology Platform Manager and play an integral role in DoorDash’s Tax function. You will assist in managing the portfolio of its indirect tax and related technology applications, reporting capabilities, and associated operational processes.
As a member of this team, you will be assisting the Company on the design, implementation, and operation of tax solutions and related processes to support the Company’s exponential growth. You will also support important tax initiatives related to rollout of new tax functionality to support our existing and new business verticals. Programs will require a technical understanding of systems and general cross organization coordination/facilitation, stakeholder management, and ownership of results.
The primary focus of this position is end to end tax solutions for sales and use taxes, consumption based taxes, food and beverage taxes and fees, gross receipts taxes, and VAT.

+ Plan for the growth of our indirect tax systems working closely with our enterprise wide technology teams.
+ Participate in new business initiatives and identify their impact on existing indirect tax system(s) and processes;
+ Support the design and implementation of indirect tax systems, by supporting the review and completion of business, functional, and technical design documents
+ Support the Company’s indirect tax technology needs, including the maintenance of existing systems and governance around system changes
We’re excited about you because…
+ You have 3+ years of experience in a corporate tax department, public accounting or technology consulting firm or other related experience. Experience with Indirect Taxes in the US and familiarity with other Countries Indirect tax regimes.
+ Hands on experience implementing and configuring Vertex O Series, on-premise and/or on-demand based, application.
+ Experience in the use of Alteryx and API testing tools like Postman or SOAP UI
+ Large project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates.
+ Direct engagement with Engineering teams on product development with an understanding of software development processes. Project planning and execution skills that include reviewing technical design documents, estimating, and scheduling.
+ Highly organized and care about the details, and understand both the big picture and the details.
+ BA/BS in a quantitative or business field

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.
