Associate Manager House Counsel Staff

As anassociate house counsel staff manager, you’ll oversee legal assistants, leads, and administrative assistants physically located in one or more locations. A typical day will involve critical decision making, providing clarity for client questions, handling escalated and complex issues, managing and developing others, and working with managing attorneys to implement new processes and workflows. Ideal candidates will rely on their strong time management skills while providing valuable support to our attorneys, be responsible for any hiring or training efforts, along with coordinating day to day office operations within the support staff. 

This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to an office for meetings and/or training. Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the office they support.

Must-have qualifications 

High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of two years legal work experience and two years leadership experience (e.g. coaching or leading people/processes/projects).

Preferred skills

Insurance defense experience along with a solid understanding of the house counsel and/or general legal office environment and the ability to learn and understand litigation processAbility to work independently while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy requirementsStrong verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate PC skills with a working knowledge of spreadsheets along with working knowledge of Progressive’s systems, safety, quality, and operational procedures, training manuals and company policies and proceduresAbility to understand complex business issues and processCompensation$84,150-$93,500 per yearGainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
