Element has an opportunity for Associate Mechanical Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Kitchener, ON. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities Adhere and apply to Element safety procedure and requirementsReview and understand technical test specifications with attention to detailed requirementsDesign/build modular test stands/fixtures with instrumentation for product testing. (Ex: Test stands/fixtures for environmental exposures, vibration, durability, hydraulics, etc.)Execute and assist materials tests including but not limited to environmental simulation, durability, tensile, impact, shock, corrosion, vibration, microscopy etc.Testing of a variety of materials and products including, plastics, metals, fabrics, electro-mechanical or electronic assemblies with applications in automotive, military, aerospace, electronics or consumer goods industriesSet-up and verification of test equipmentTest notes and record keeping with attention to detail according to Quality Manual and Standard Operating ProceduresComputer data entry and report generating from standard templatesProject and technical time tracking via computerized time management systemAssistance and support the team to ensure daily testing and reporting and commitments are completedAdherence and contribution to Element’s Quality System and Standard Operating Procedures as assigned Skills / Qualifications College Graduate or higher qualification2 years relevant experienceMS Office (Word, Excell and Outlook) and Contact Management SystemData acquisition and signal conditionersPhysical fitness and ability to withstand the challenging working conditionsStrong and determined quality focus with indefatigable determination to get the job doneDetail oriented and self-motivated team player with excellent organizational and communication skillsWillingness to embrace new skills and apply them in a practical context is considered prerequisite
