Opportunity

Join our dynamic team at Material Operations and Lab Services (MOLS), where you'll play a vital role in supporting groundbreaking research at our South San Francisco (SSF) location. We empower our scientists by providing essential delivery and supply services that fuel life-changing research and development projects. Our Lab Services meticulously wash, clean, and sterilize glassware of various sizes, ensuring our labs run smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, our Media Prep team supplies high-quality microbiological media, cell culture media, and various solutions and buffers, all of which are critical to the success of our scientific endeavors. Execute Glassware and Equipment Preparation: Responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, preparing, and distributing glassware and equipment, ensuring GMP and R&D requirements are met.

Media Production and Preparation: Produce microbiological and cell culture media, as well as various solutions and buffers, preparing necessary stock such as reagents and requested media.

Operate and Maintain Equipment: Proficiently operate process equipment, including autoclaves, washers, ovens, tanks, and benchtop instruments, while maximizing equipment utilization and ensuring quality and efficiency.

Collaborative Teamwork and Training: Work effectively within the team to meet departmental goals, provide training and technical assistance to team members, and support the implementation of best practices across campus.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, monitor team adherence to SOPs/IPs, respond to safety incidents promptly, and participate in process improvement initiatives to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Who you are

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of college-level coursework or an AA/AS degree in biological/physical sciences, or at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Technical Skills: Strong background in media prep or glassware operations, mechanical aptitude, familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment, and proficiency with computers for entering work orders and notifications.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, proven abilities to work effectively in teams, and demonstrate customer service orientation.

Work Requirements: Self-starter with strong focus on quality and detail, able to work weekends, off shifts, and overtime, and capable of lifting 40lbs and standing for extended periods.

Additional Qualifications: Passion for continuous process improvement, ability to provide technical support and training for new technicians, and must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

There are no relocation benefits for this role.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is 53,000.00 - 98,400.00 USD Annual .  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
