About the Role:
The Associate Medical Manager will establish the presence of healthcare medical affairs with external stakeholders through scientific exchange and research support. This role is office-based and field-based therapeutic area expert responsible for developing and executing TA-specific medical plans along with fostering relationships with key external stakeholders. He/She will contribute to the achievement of business success by putting the patient’s needs and safety into primary focus, communicating fair-balanced therapeutic areas, product-related and clinical information to external stakeholders (e.g key opinion leaders (KOL), physicians, academic institutions, hospital formulary committees), and responding to unsolicited requests for medical information. Additionally, this position will provide key insights learned from the medical and scientific community to internal stakeholders to guide the medical and brand plan.
This position will work to collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute medical-relevant strategies and tactics as well as provide scientific expertise and training to cross-functional stakeholders as needed.
Act as Local Medical Affairs TA expert in one or more TAs
Co-leading Local TA, Launch and Brand Strategies, and leading the Medical Affairs Tactics
Lead Medical Affairs activities in the assigned territory along with defined local Medical Launch / Brand strategies
Responsible for assigning, tracking, and monitoring relevant KPIs and metrics for Medical Affairs
Consolidate and communicate trends, market insights, and unmet needs identified in the field
Develop Medical material, review marketing material, training
Lead/ support (depending on the nature of study) Medical studies, assist in coordinating Local clinical projects and contribute to site selection for clinical projects
Lead Local publication process, publication dissemination, and alignment with Local, Regional, and Global publication plan
Support communications for ISS between investigators and internal stakeholders
Coordinate with ClinDev and ClinOps in providing field support for research studies and assist in the selection of clinical study sites
May lead presentations and discussions on local Studies at internal study review committee meetings
Ensure scientific and clinical accuracy for specific product or brand
Comply with relevant training and SOPs
Maintains up-to-date GxP knowledge by following internal and external training
Conduct Local internal scientific training and ensure continuous Medical education of existing teams and new employees working in the Local TA
Review and communicate insights collected
Develop Medical KTL scientific interaction plans
Positively impact external perceptions and knowledge regarding company and company products
Maintain and demonstrate comprehensive and in-depth scientific TA knowledge when executing assigned tactics
Ensure operational excellence by sharing best practices
Map treatment landscape and medical environment for new indications/ programs in the Therapeutic Area
Responsible for the planning and tracking of the (TA-specific) medical budget
Who you are: A university degree (Bachelor’s) required, preferably in a scientific field of relevance to the position such as Medical Doctors or pharmacy graduates will be preferred Minimum 2-3 years experience in Medical Affairs (such as MSL or clinical research associate or related to Medical affairs function)Product launch experience would be an advantageKnowledge of clinical research, GCP, and pharmacovigilance Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships easily, even with challenging peopleExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English: fluency in other languages is a plusExcellent oral presentation skillsStrong planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritizeIndependent and self-driven with a positive work ethicProven track record of teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, and leadershipResult-oriented with a high sense of urgency and adherence to timelinesMeticulous and strong analytical skillsAbility to engender trust and respect of peers and superiorsHigh integrity, ethical, and professional mindsetWell-versed in highly technical and scientific languagesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
