Merchandising:

Our merchandising team is constantly building brands, starting trends, and developing entirely new product categories. These experts roll up their sleeves and advise our brands on the best way to bring our clients what they crave—and what they will be craving soon. Our product pipeline is so robust and exciting that many of the items that will be most in-demand in our stores next year don’t even exist yet. And our merchants don’t stop at selection—they bring the assortment to life through breakthrough curation and storytelling across our stores and digital properties.

 

Your role at Sephora:
As an Associate Merchant for .com, you will assist the .com Merchant in developing and implementing online category, brand & product merchandising strategies that serve as a basis for achieving financial sales objectives. You will perform .com merchant responsibilities for a select group of brands (but still work on a larger subset of brands beyond that group). You will also demonstrate leadership potential to manage category projects and brand businesses. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

Overall business strategy Maintain collaborative and proactive relationship with brands, retail merchant & inventory counterparts, to drive cross channel alignment & sales optimization for a subset of brands Consistently analyze the online business, providing insights to direct partners, retail merchants & brands. Make timely adjustments to online merchandising in order to optimize sales.  Provide analysis for weekly & monthly performance recaps and share recaps with upper level management Source and plan brand promotional activity around product launch strategies and key core initiatives. Run Ad hoc reporting and projects to drive category and brand business Brand management Proactively manage relationships with brand partners to develop strong growth plans. Communicate regularly with brands and retail merchant counterparts on business related issues (launch plans, business updates, exposures, etc.) Manage .com product assortments, collaborating with brand partners to source what is needed to differentiate and drive the online business.  Provide assortment/SKU analysis to drive decisions Responsible for new brand set up and ongoing brand page updates, ensuring optimal articulation/messaging, visual presentation and navigation of the brand story Product marketing, site merchandising & content Work with senior merchant on strategic placements across the entire site for a category while championing own subset of brands; determine what to feature and where Assist with category, brand & product placements for email, homepage, category pages, including messaging & product presentation in partnership with the brand marketing team. Partner with coordinator to set up products online, communicating with brands to gather product comps and assets.  Ensure copy/messaging, video & images are optimized. Assign strategic & accurate attribution/refinements to each product Work with product & content production teams daily for onsite maintenance & functionality including the QA process Assist Sr. merchant with category content projects for the site that will increase traffic, conversion and sales.  Understand web analytics data to help inform decisions Inventory & Planning Partner closely with the Inventory team pre-season to help forecast newness, .com exclusives, limited edition & seasonal buys  Participate in .com open-to-buy meetings for in-season planning Ensure all featured products in marketing have sufficient inventory to support activity Review Sku productivity bi-annually to optimize online assortment Demonstrate our Sephora values of Passion for Client Service, Innovation, Expertise, Balance, Respect for All, Teamwork, and Initiative

Minimum 3-5 years retail buying office experience E-Commerce and/or Direct-to-Consumer experience highly preferred High level of initiative High-level problem solving and analytical skills with good judgement Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment Strong interpersonal skills Strong communication skills, oral and written with comfort presenting and delivering to leadership Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The annual base salary range for this position is $98,000.00 - $106,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
