The Boeing Global Services organization is seeking an Associate or Mid-LevelReliability & Maintainability Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity with the C-17 Fleet Reliability & Analysis Team in Warner Robins, GA.  The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for air forces of the United States and allied countries.  This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be reliable and mission capable.

Position Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will perform reliability & maintainability (R&M) Systems Engineering responsibilities in support of our C-17 internal and external Air Force customers.  Typical tasks include but not limited to the following:

Review, correct, and analyze field maintenance and failure dataConduct root cause analysis and high driver analysesPerform component and system level reliability analyses for various aircraft systems such as Engine, APU, Fuel, Hydraulic, Avionics, Flight Controls, Structures, etc.Conduct failure analysis and trending analysis and recommend maintenance, operational or process changes to optimize aircraft systems reliability, maintainability, and availability.Participate in Integrity Program Working Group Meetings, Maintenance Steering Group-3 Meetings, Crisis Management Team Meetings, Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability Meetings, Deficiency Report Review Board Quarterly Meetings,Interface with customers and management at major design reviews to provide reliability findings and recommendationsProvide inputs to proposals.  Review subcontractor’s proposals for reliability program effectiveness

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree2+ years of experience in engineering or technical fieldKnowledge of aircraft systemsKnowledge in Failure Mode Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA) and root cause analysisProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of experience in engineering or technical fieldExperience with analyzing field dataExperience in SQL, MS Access and databasesKnowledge of C-17 aircraft

Typical Education/ Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $81,600- $110,400

Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $97,750- $132,250
