The Multifamily Research team is the heart of CoStar, capturing market-critical information that enables our commercial real estate clients to make informed, high impact business decisions daily. CoStar Group is seeking an Associate Multifamily Researcher to join our growing research organization. As a CoStar Associate Multifamily Researcher, you will build relationships with key decision makers representing and managing various multifamily properties across the country. Through these interactions, you will be updating their property details, ensuring they are getting the most visibility on our platform. In addition, you will capture market-critical information that enables our clients to make informed high impact business decisions in the multifamily sector. CoStar Group’s research contributes to an important segment of our economy, helping businesses attract future renters, plan future construction, and stay ahead in the market. RESPONSIBILITIES + Primary responsibility is to contact owners and managers of multifamily properties to ensure occupancy and effective rents are up to date, accurate, and complete + Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships by conducting daily interviews with multifamily real estate professionals to obtain real-time property data including the number of units, model mix, rental rates, concessions, images, contacts, overall building details, and other data as required + Ensure data quality and identify opportunities for data enhancement + Capture and enter data accurately while understanding how the information contributes to providing marketplace transparency + Promote the advantages of utilizing our suite of products to make informed business decisions and maximize marketing exposure + Find and maintain accurate data for all multifamily properties throughout the complete construction lifecycle + Review market publications and social media to stay abreast of current commercial real estate activity, capturing breaking news as identified + Function as a CoStar product ambassador by demonstrating product knowledge of CoStar and Apartments.com + Partner with CoStar sales organization to effectively on-board clients and provide additional product training as needed to solve their business needs + Provide world-class customer service to all clients with a heavy emphasis on personal attention + Research and compile a complete profile of commercial real estate owners, to include key contacts and portfolio of properties owned, developed, and managed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College + Track record of commitment to prior employers + Microsoft Excel 365 + Flexibility to work shifts aligned with ET, CT, or PT time zones PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Natural curiosity, persistence, and ability to conduct thorough investigative research + Proven success performing to metrics or key performance indicators (KPI) + Experience communicating with external clients by phone with an ability to resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner with a high degree of customer service + Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal business partners + Possess strong time management skills and experience managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment + Experience working independently and as part of a team + Demonstrate knowledge of and/or experience within the commercial real estate industry + Ability to adjust and adapt to changing priorities at a high growth company + 8+ months experience in a customer service environment + Ability to develop and grow client relationships by conducting effective interviews with commercial real estate professionals, resulting in database updates + Customer-focused approach to tasks, including a drive towards building effective client partnerships + Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter and develop basic formulas.
