Associate Order Drafter

Pioneer Industries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding our Team and are adding an Associate Order Detailer. This role will be based out of our manufacturing facility located in Carlstadt, New Jersey.

What would you do as our Order Detailer?

You will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements through various forms, creating detailed manufacturing drawings using templates and AutoCAD-based systems, engineering guidelines, and sketches according to manufacturing requirements.  Responsibilities also includes interpreting production specifications and researching drawings.  Works closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Sales teams as well as interaction with customers. This role will focus in three main areas: Technical, Customer Service, and Administrative

 

TECHNICAL:

Ensure accurate specifications and drawings to maintain product quality. Interpret hardware templates and prepare detailed manufacturing drawings. Develop layouts, details, and material lists for production release. Identify all custom product components required for shop drawings. Anticipate potential installation challenges and address them in design. Assist in creating and updating detailed manufacturing drawings and hardware templates.

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Provide technical support to Customer Service, Manufacturing, and customers. Resolve external customer issues promptly and thoroughly. Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve template and drawing discrepancies efficiently. Recommend products based on customer needs and preferences. Process customer orders with high accuracy, including both stock and custom orders.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE:

Utilize the document management system for tracking and updates. Maintain and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. Perform other duties as required. Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment, demonstrating strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy

 

The Skills and Experience you need:

Degree/Certification in Mechanical or Architectural Technology preferred. Previous experience drafting/detailing in a manufacturing environment preferred. Previous exposure to CAD-based software. Strong math skills, with proficiency in Algebra and Geometry. Previous experience with templates and drawings as a designer or drafter within the architectural hardware industry and/or building products with the ability to read blueprints strongly preferred. Experience or exposure in order processing preferred. Understanding of metal forming equipment desirable. Self-starter with problem-solving skills for customer issue resolution. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up abilities. Ability to collaborate, foster relationships, and work effectively in a team. Exceptional customer service skills to build rapport and resolve inquiries. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Strong time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
