ASSOCIATE PEOPLE PARTNER (JAPAN)

We are currently looking for an Associate People Partner (Japan) to come join our wider International People Partner team as we embark on our continued growth in APAC. This role is based in Tokyo and will support all functions across our Japan team. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director, People Partners (APAC) based in Singapore. 

The role

Partner with all levels of management locally to provide advice and recommendations and work closely with the broader People Partner team on the rollout of projects and initiatives including our employee surveys, annual reward planning etc. 

Ensure compliance with local laws, regulatory requirements and compliance as needed

Lead initiatives and create opportunities locally to foster a collaborative and ‘fun’ performance based culture

Act as a point of contact for employees and the business in providing guidance and support on employee relations matters (in close partnership with both APAC People Partners and Employee Relations teams)

Point of contact for regional center of excellence questions: talent and development, employee relations, total rewards etc. 

Develop and analyze HR Data and reports, recommend appropriate actions for continuous improvements locally e.g. employee engagement surveys

What we’re looking for

Native/Fluent in both Japanese and English

An experienced HR Generalist with demonstrable experience developing, refining and implementing a positive employee experience  

Strong understanding of Japanese Labor Laws and HR best practices

Strong sense of ownership, a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to pivot on the fly

Demonstrable experience in employee relations matters such disciplinary processes and investigations 

Ability to maintain, understand and respect confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with excellent judgment and discretion
