What you will do:

Under direct supervision, the Associate Predictive Modeler I, will work closely with senior modelers to assist in developing and implementing predictive models to drive profitable growth, fight fraud and make sound business decisions

The Associate Predictive Modeler I’s key duties and responsibilities:

Collaborate with senior modelers to collect and preprocess data for modeling purposesAssist in conducting statistical analysis to identify patterns and relationships in dataSupport the development and testing of predictive models using appropriate algorithms and techniquesDocument processes, methodologies, and findings related to predictive modeling projectsStay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in predictive modeling techniques and   toolsBuild knowledge and skills within assigned disciplineMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry research, developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issuesAssist with planning, organizing, gathering, analyzing, and converting data from numerous sources to satisfy reporting requirements and deadlines

How you will benefit:

Associate Predictive Modeler will earn a competitive salary of $80,000 - $85,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

We’re looking for candidates who:

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related fieldRelevant internships, coursework projects, or research experience in statistics, data analysis, or machine learning or other related fields

Experience:

Supporting analytic requests for information to determine required dataAssist with manipulating data in preparation for modeling exerciseSupport utilizing, reviewing, and documenting internal automated systems, programs and processesPerforming research and using statistical analysis to complete assignmentsExperience with programming languages used for data analysis and predictive modeling

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of PC software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques and principlesKnowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, R or similar data mining applicationStrong understanding of programming, database, and data mining principlesAnalytical and problem-solving skillsSupport modelers in making analysis rate revisions and changes on all lines of businessPresent information from research and statistical analysis to enhance corporate decision-making processSupport senior modelers with projects simultaneously and work well in a team environmentAssist with research and utilize new programming and data mining techniquesCommunicate effectively with others in a work environment both orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field

Experience:

Less than one year of Insurance-related statistical/predictive modeling experienceUse basic statistical analysis techniques to conduct data mining, research, and analysis.Experience in personal lines Property and Casualty with specific focus on actuarial researchAssist with documenting processes and findings related to predictive modeling projects.

Work Environment 

This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come in to an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or teambuilding events.
