Your Role
Support and assist the Privacy & Data Protection Officer with implementing the Privacy framework in Australia and New Zealand to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
Your Responsibilities
Handle Personal Information Requests. Manage low risk non- reportable data privacy breaches, incidents and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) under limited supervision. Manage privacy complaints and medium risk and reportable Privacy breaches under supervision. Review standard contractual clauses, policies and collection notices. Assist with liaising with privacy and data protection regulators. Assist with general privacy data protection legal requests from the business. Maintain and update the Privacy intranet page. Assist with staff trainings and training material preparation on essential topics (including I&Bs, PIRs, DPIAs, regulatory reforms). Supporting the Privacy & Data Protection Officer with compiling metrics-based management reports.Your Skills & Experience
Qualifications in Legal Studies or a Law degree (admitted to practice in Australia desirable).Legal experience in the insurance or financial services in either private legal practice or a corporate organisation (preferably an insurance company or other financial institution).Experience in a similar role within a privacy and data protection team.Demonstrated proficiency in understanding how to operate systems and associated processes for conducting Personal Information Request reviews.Some litigation case management experience is preferable but not essential.Highly adept at managing competing priorities in a very busy and high-pressured environment. Excellent time management and organization skills.
