The Procurement Professional will be responsible for all aspects of the acquisition of direct and indirect materials, and supply/supplier management associated with the business, to include having responsibility, authority, and accountability for the procurement of these materials and related services at Lilly facilities located in Branchburg, NJ. This individual will be responsible for driving compliance with functional and corporate policies and procedures. This shall include, but not be limited to, all aspects of acquiring MRP used in the clinical & commercial manufacture of pharmaceutical products, in development of pharmaceutical formulations, adherence to applicable cGMP's, SOP's & Regulatory requirements, and the day-to-day and longer-term management of supplier relationships.

What you'll do in the role:Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet business needs.Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and award contracts for MRP purchases, MRO goods, and services.Prepare and maintain SAP data and activities including but not limited to Purchasing info records, assigning source list, supplier change notifications etc.Coordinates with site functional departments to develop planning forecasts for requirements, as needed..Analyze supply base, reduce risk, and optimize the total cost; find opportunities and deliver savings using E-auctions or similar tools available.Leverage global purchases and contracts to ensure Lilly operates in efficient manner.Perform spend analysis across the category for the site and use the data to Improve purchasing efficiencies.Ensure legal, quality, health & safety, ethical and environmental standards are maintained and developed.Think out of the box to evaluate and implement continuous and competitive improvement projects.Lead supplier interactions in pricing and contract negotiation such as CDA’s MSA’s, contract development/management.Support buyers in resolution of GR/IR discrepanciesSupport site on VMI, Vendor Managed Inventory requirements. Working with supplier, monitoring materials, understanding materials of concern, and including internal cost centers associated using VMI.Author, review and approve change controls, deviations, standard Operating Procedures, and material specifications, as needed.Consultation and collaboration with SMEs and other areas that impact sourcing across the site and with global category managers.

Skills needed:Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize projects without compromising the quality of work.Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; able to develop effective teamwork between team members with diverse interpersonal styles.Pharmaceutical market and regulations, cGMP manufacturing and overall manufacturing business acumen.Strong critical thinking skills: able to anticipate and recognize problems, diagnose root causes, and take corrective action to prevent recurrence within the team.Understanding of cost factors and total cost of ownership concepts with ability to identify and attain cost reduction/avoidance/improvement opportunities.Be self-motivated, confident, and self-directed personality while able to work independently as well as in team environment.Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP experience required.Knowledge of principles of business and accounting practices and Sarbanes Oxley.Exposure to contracts and/or contract law helpful.

Basic Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent (+5 years of procurement experience) or Bachelor's degree (3+ years Procurement experience), preferably in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical Industry.Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$63,750 - $143,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
