As an Associate Product Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a defined range of products within the Home category for Disney and Pixar franchises. Under general guidance from leadership, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative, consumer-focused product lines that align with market trends and brand goals. Your work will contribute to the development of products that enhance brand equity while meeting financial and performance targets across all distribution channels. This role will report to the Senior Manager – Product Design.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Create trend-driven, consumer-focused product lines managing the process from concept to finished product. This includes coordinating art-to-product development and sample creation
+ Oversee the approval process for licensed products and packaging, ensuring design, composition, character execution, storytelling, color, materials, and functionality meet high-quality standards while maximizing profitability. Manage collaborative meetings and approval systems for licensed content
+ Develop trend boards, product direction boards, creative presentations, and retail pitch decks for internal and external reviews. Ensure that all design materials are well-documented and align with brand guidelines
+ Work closely with internal teams (Creative Design, Brand Merchandising, Licensing Commercialization, Global Product Design teams, BERGs, CBM, Legal, Business Affairs, Product Integrity, Integrated Retail, BPM, Public Affairs, D&I teams, Cultural Consultants) and external partners (Studios & Disney Channel Content Providers, Games, Publishing, WDI, Licensees, DTR Partners) to design and approve all products
+ Stay informed on competitor products, industry innovations, and market trends. Conduct research on seasonal trends and category-specific insights to inform your design process
+ Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are effectively balanced
**Required Qualifications & Skills:**
+ Minimum 3 years’ experience in product design and development, with a focus on either hardlines or softlines
+ Proficiency in design and presentation software (Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, and MS Office)
+ Expertise in product design (material and trim identification, printing and sculpting techniques, sketching for overlays, 3D design is a plus)
+ Strong communication skills both verbal and written
+ Solid negotiating abilities
+ Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and market trends
**Required Education:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or related experience in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Toy Design

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA, is $94,200.00 to $126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
