The Project Finance Associate is a key member of the growing Project Finance Americas team, responsible for helping to build a specialized sector financing business by structuring and executing prudent and profitable renewable energy project financing transactions and developing a high-quality client base. The PF Associate will have exposure to a broad range of technologies (e.g. solar, wind, battery, energy efficiency, fuel cells and EV's) as well as transaction structures (e.g. traditional project finance, equipment finance and portfolio financing). As an Associate - Project Finance you will be successful by sourcing, reviewing and executing finance opportunities with market leading renewable energy players in the Energy Transition to help decarbonize the economy.

An Associate on the Rabobank North America Project Finance team will provide critical support to build relationships with leading developers, manufacturers and investors in the renewable energy sector. These relationships are built by a PF Associates through development of expertise in renewable technologies, market dynamics and government incentives and use this expertise to structure financial solutions that help our clients to build and deploy their decarbonization projects.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluate financial models for renewable energy projects and other project finance transactions

Understand key financing risks and recommending mitigants to alleviate such risks

Review key project documents, including Power Purchase Agreements or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Agreements

Review financing agreements

Assess transmission, market, independent engineering, appraisal, and insurance consultant reports

Draft internal transaction documents and credit memos

To be considered for the Associate - Project Finance role, you must have:

Strong passion for the renewable energy sector

2+ years of energy/infrastructure project finance experience at a financial institution, credit rating agency, developer or related experience

Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel, in particular renewable energy project finance modelling

Drive to learn quickly about new markets, technologies and financing structures

Ability to learn or prior experience with:

Technical diligence of wind, solar and battery projects

Credit Risk Assessment

(Renewable) Project insurance

Renewable energy tax incentives

Bank products in particular Project Finance, Interest Rate Risk management and Capital Markets

Ability to travel regionally, up to 15%

Salary Expectations:

Target Hiring Range: $115,000.00 - $185,000.00

This position is subject to the terms of [RAF/Rabobank/RDS]’s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, all full-time regular positions include all other benefits provided to [RAF/Rabobank/RDS] employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
