Your Role:

 

Evaluate stable isotope products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group and department. Specific job duties include:

 

Safely perform operations to meet quality expectationsEnsure safety and quality throughout the processAssure you are adequately trained to perform tasks/assignmentsPerform multi-disciplined, established assays and/or unit operations, primarily those requiring a higher level of skill and knowledge involving stable isotope compoundsClean-up equipment and working areas during and after operationsHandle chemical glassware, equipment, and hosesComplete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlinesContribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal)Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisorProvide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelinesEnsure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current proceduresInterface with other departments as neededParticipate as needed in quality auditsAccurately perform procedures independentlyIdentify problems and limitations of analysisPerform routine troubleshooting and miscellaneous duties or tasks as necessaryReview of final assays and proceduresInterface with external customersGeneration and/or review of analytical method development and validations.Ability to serve on committees to improve department, site or company performanceCommittees may focus on safety, quality, inventory, output, costs, etcIn compliance with change control procedures, improve processes through application of scientific knowledge, experience, and principlesIdentify opportunities for process improvementParticipate in process improvements under the guidance of a Supervisor Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditionsDevelop improvement ideas, review impact of changes and document all workTrain personnel and act as a technical consultant as neededPerform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediatesInterpret data using NMR, HPLC, GC, and MS instrumentsSupply information based on experience and knowledge

 

Physical Attributes:

 

Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and push and pull heavy materials

 

 Who You Are:

 Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other Life Science Discipline7+ years of experience in an independent lab within a manufacturing or research enviroment

                  

                       OR

 

Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, other Life Science Discipline3+ years of experience in an independent lab within a manufacturing or research environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience with GMP Method Validation and Method TransferKnowledge of organic, inorganic, and gaseous chemistryThe ability to troubleshoot chemical reactions and testing
