The Cushman & Wakefield Rating team is growing and this is a great opportunity to join our successful national rating team at Associate level.The role will be based within our London office, but other locations will be considered for suitable candidates. The role is ideally suited to qualified rating surveyors with experience of providing rating advice to clients. The individual will have knowledge of the most effective ways to reduce business rates liability and experience of dealing with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) and Billing Authorities. The rating team is going through a period of growth due to an expanding workload which will present significant opportunities for the right candidate.
Core Responsibilities:
Devise and implement strategies to reduce clients’ business rates liabilitiesManage empty rates liabilities and submit relief applicationsInspect and accurately measure properties for rating valuation purposesReview rating assessments having regard to rental and comparable evidence in order to determine whether a Rateable Value is excessiveProduce and submit high quality, well-reasoned submissions to the VOA as part of the Check, Challenge, Appeal (CCA) processEffectively manage and build client relationships. Provide excellent client service and keep clients updated on strategies and progress on CCA’sProduce regular progress reports and attend client meetings Manage workload effectively and ensure that CCA deadlines are metDevelop new business and build internal relationships to ensure that all opportunities are exploredContribute to achieving financial targetsSkills & Experience:
Knowledge of rating industry software such as Riverlake, Analyse, RatesData and CalcurateQualified Chartered Surveyor with specific experience of dealing with rating valuations (other professional qualifications considered)Experience of presenting cases at Valuation Tribunal and beyondUp to date knowledge of rating legislation and practiceExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to build relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholdersEntrepreneurial approach with the ability to identify new business opportunities and cross-sell additional services to clientsExcellent report writing and presentation skillsAbility to support and nurture junior members of the teamINCO: “Cushman & Wakefield”
