Essential Function

The HR Associate Relations Advisor serves as the point-of-contact for current and former associates to advise, coach, and support on a broad range of issues and concerns.  Provides support services with a high degree of customer satisfaction, expertise, and timeliness.  Includes evaluating and analyzing the associate concern, quickly interpreting the situation, determining the appropriate resolution, recommendation and/or escalation, and coordinate and communicate the resolution.  This role also partners with other HR Professionals, Leadership, Loss Prevention, and Legal to ensure consistent application, interpretation and compliance of company policy in line with federal and state regulations. 

Primary Duties

Collaborates effectively with HR, Field Managers, Loss Prevention, Legal and others on an as-needed basis regarding associate relations concerns requiring escalation and/or notification.  Counsels and guides leaders and associates on issues by thoroughly investigating and resolving concerns while appropriately documenting case details and relevant information in the call service management system Initiate and participate in investigation through resolution confirming concerns have been closed out appropriately with all participants contacted in the resolution Provides feedback to Senior Manager on call trends, process gaps, identified root causes, and recommended creative solutions for continuous improvement and reduction of escalated issues. Escalates complex/difficult concerns to the Senior Manager or others when appropriate Utilizes procedures, policy manuals, knowledge base and other reference materials to assist in making recommendations and resolving issues within identified service level agreements Coordinates review with Loss Prevention, Legal, and Benefit team for guidance as appropriate in addressing cases that may result in potential legal action Integrates effectively with team members; seeking input/assistance as needed. Strives to gather and share evidence and facts to allow for transparent knowledge transfer and effective overall capability of field HR team Monitors trends to identify problem areas, and makes recommendations. May analyzes results and themes to determine where intervention or additional leadership support may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

2+ years of HR experience in a concentration such as Associate Relations or as an HR Generalist; Experience in the retail industry preferred High School Diploma or equivalent Working knowledge of federal and state law regulations as they pertain to employee relations, benefits (including leave administration), compensation, and payroll Skilled at MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR Systems PHR a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work
