Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements To meet project requirements, lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects, climb stairs and ladders, work outdoors, wear all PPE, sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, repetitive motion tasks, exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes
including waste and risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job. Shift Monday – Friday typical working hours, for example 8:30am – 5:00pm. Some nights and weekends shift work may also be required to meet project demands.. About this Position:
This role will support the project manager to meet milestones and other requirements by contributing to project execution, reporting, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesActing as Bench Unit Operating Engineer Independently executes subtasks and leads sub-tasks level activities on projects and ensure timely delivery on project milestones as assigned by task leads and or PI/PM. On UK’s bench-scale or other field unit, operating the unit, taking measurements, recording observations, collecting samples, compiling and process data. Ensuring equipment functionality to produce continuous data quality to accomplish project goals. Provide engineering support to the team to find and implement solutions to problems encountered within project scope and budget, including creating and maintaining unit records and SOPs. Responsible for sample analyses, data reduction, quality and communication as needed. Leads technical support staff, to modify, assemble, construct, and calibrate process development units/equipment per project specification. Responsible for inventory and supplies, procurement, storage, and logging of supplies and equipment to fulfill the project needs. Responsible for handling, identification, packaging and storage of materials/samples.

As a contributing author Contributes to the analysis of test information and data. Contributes data/findings for use in scholarly output. Performs data acquisition and reduction. Provides monthly reports and presentations.
Job Requirements Occasional shift work, as assigned, to meet project requirements. Be able to work in Lexington offices on a daily basis with occasional travel to job sites, putting in full days of work. Maintains knowledge of and follows all UK, group and host site policies and procedures Adept at computer and engineering software use. Ability to gain knowledge of chemical process and laboratory equipment. Ability to communicate effectively orally, written. Ability to gain knowledge of engineering research principles, practices and protocols. Has regular meeting and training attendance. Accepts other responsibilities, as assigned or as needed. Maintains positive interaction with colleagues and external contacts. Maintains a clean, clutter-free, organized, professional work/laboratory spaces and office environments. Frequent unsolicited reporting of progress and results, daily or weekly.
