Position Description: NYU Metropolitan Center and Hua-Yu Sebastian Cherng, a faculty affiliate, is seeking a part- time assistant who has expertise in experimental and quasi-experimental statistical methods and high-performance computing. The position is expected to attend weekly virtual team meetings and assist with the reporting and documentation of tasks. The NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools is a research and professional learning services center that supports equity-focused, evidence-based innovations in educational research and programming. We operate as a complex collective of multiple sub-units with different areas of specialization. This role is a virtual position. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is [$28-$30/hour]. Principal Responsibilities: 75% statistical analyses 15% reporting and documenting reports and tasks 10% attend weekly research meetings Qualifications: The ideal candidate is, first and foremost, committed to our organizational mission and vision and reflects the following Qualifications: ● Required Experience: Experience in advanced statistical methods, such as experimental (e.g. RCT) and quasi-experimental (e.g. propensity score matching, regression discontinuity) techniques. Experience in working with high performance computing systems. ● Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: Experience with statistical packages such as R, Stata, and HPC systems. ● Preferred Education: Background in statistics and/or data science. ● Preferred Experience: Knowledge of statistical packages and HPC systems. ● Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: knowledge of educational datasets.
