**Overview**
**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** Dr. Moghimi’s lab focuses on CAR-T cell therapies. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our research team as a Research Associate I. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with a passion for biomedical research and an interest in CAR-T cell therapy. While no prior experience is required, comprehensive training will be provided. Under supervision, conducts routine laboratory research procedures. Follows protocol to perform experiments. Tabulates data and may assist with analysis. Performs routine equipment maintenance and orders supplies. May provide instruction to support personnel.
**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** Experience working in a laboratory environment required; Preferred 1+ years experience performing laboratory research.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Perform research to understand and enhance CAR-T cell therapies.
• Assist in designing and conducting experiments involving CAR-T cell engineering, cloning, and viral transduction.
• Support the generation and maintenance of cell lines, including primary T cells.
• Conduct flow cytometry analysis to characterize and assess cell phenotypes.
• Perform molecular biology techniques such as plasmid preparation, PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and findings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance the understanding of CAR-T cell mechanisms and applications.
• Contribute to the preparation of research data for publications and presentations.
• Strong interest in immunology, molecular biology, or cancer research.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and protocols.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
**Preferred Skills (but not required):**
• Basic understanding of cell culture or molecular biology techniques.
• Familiarity with flow cytometry or other analytical tools.

**Education/Licensure/Certification:** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field. Applicants must have completed their bachelor’s degree by their anticipated start date.
**Pay Scale Information**
$37,232.00-$61,953.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
