Overview of role

As an Associate Researcher in the Beauty Analytical team, you will have exposure to end-to-end Product Development and Delivery. This organization plays a key role on understanding mechanisms of action, develops measurement capability to inform/guide our innovation programs.

The team is also a key contributor in the understanding of product stability, executing raw material qualification, transfer of methods to product supply and support troubleshooting.

How success looks like

Over time, you will be a key Researcher in Beauty Analytical, involved in product development and evaluation process. Success in this role requires you to:

Closely partner with a Research Specialist to manage and enhance our central stability capabilities, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our Beauty products.Conduct various analytical testing, to support product launch with the help of the technical coachProvide reliable data for the project team to validate and generate new hypothesis to facilitate better and faster product designAssist in management of the daily laboratory operation including inventory, safety & quality aspects through working with multi-functional teams and external partners

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development of new methodologies and protocols to enable stability testing processes in partnership with Analytical senior technologistsConduct stability testing for beauty products, analysing, reporting and interpreting data to assess product performance.Provide support in training contractors as needed.Utilize various analytical techniques to support product development and address emerging business needs.Operate and maintain various analytical instrumentation. Be responsible for instrumentation, including maintenance calibration, and associated documentationDocument work completed and communicate results to project teamsAdhere to quality and safety systems including good science practices and deliver quality data to enable timely business decisions

Job Qualifications

Diploma in Chemistry or related fields from the local Polytechnics3-5 years relevant experience with strong interest in Analytical ChemistryStrong basic Analytical Chemistry techniques, e.g. weighing balance, pipette, pH meter, volumetric flasks, etcFamiliar with Analytical Chemistry principles and various Analytical Instruments, e.g. HPLC, GC, titrator, IR, etcBasic Statistics skills (calculate mean, standard deviation and % relative error)Effective oral and written communication skills is a mustExcellent problem-solving skills and uses data to connect multiple ideas and develop solutions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with people from different cultures and levels, both internally and externally
