Primary Responsibility
Adaptimmune's Process & Analytical Development Teams are focused on the development of Lentiviral Vector manufacturing assays; and the development of T-cell manufacturing processes and analytical assays. The purpose of this role is to support these functions.
Associate Scientists are required to join the team to contribute to either Vector, or T-Cell PD & AD team functions by performing the following duties:Execution of experimental work as required to support vector team projectsAccurate recording of experimental dataMaintenance of cell culturesMaintenance of laboratory equipment
Whilst initially requiring supervision by an experienced team member, the job holder will develop further scientific skills to enable them to work independently on routine duties.
The Associate Scientist may also be involved in one or more support activities to enable the smooth running of the group or laboratory (e.g. Lab Steward role).
Key ResponsibilitiesConducting & documenting lab work to progress the group and company objectives.Participating in group and project meetings and discussionsRoutine lab maintenanceQualifications & Experience
Minimum RequiredUndergraduate degree in Life Sciences, or related disciplineAbility to learn and develop in order to work independently within a reasonable time frameTheoretical or practical knowledge of some of the following: mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, ELISA, nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, flow cytometry, upstream bioprocessing, downstream bioprocessing. DesirablePractical experience of laboratory proceduresAseptic cell culture experience
