Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Associate Scientist - Upstream (mRNA) to optimize our Biopharma Production organization. This Bridgewater, NJ/ Innovation Center role is full-time, on-site.

Minimum Education Requirement:
BS (biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, chemical engineering, bioengineering or related).Travel:
Up to 10% domesticRequired Experience (1+ yr.):
Knowledge of molecular biologyUtilizing molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, and sequencingConducting routine biological and physiochemical assays, such as DNA/RNA gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, WB, and ELISA.Generating and maintaining experimental data in a highly organized manner.Working knowledge of experimental laboratory instruments and scientific products.Utilizing safe laboratory practices and procedures.Following scientific protocols, policies, and proceduresWorking in a cross-functional environmentCommunicating study results Preparing and executing experimental protocols and analytical test methods under general guidance.Documenting procedures and observations (electronic lab notebook).Maintaining laboratory areaUtilizing safe practices while working in the laboratory environment as per EHS guidelines and policy.Analyzing experimental data, interpreting results, and presenting findings to cross-functional teams.Maintaining accurate experimental records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholdersStaying updated with advances in mRNA biology and integrating newPreferred Experience:
Executing and optimizing experiments focused on mRNA biology, including mRNA synthesis, purification, and characterization.Performing mRNA transfection, delivery, and expression studies in cellular systems.Contributing to the development and evaluation of novel mRNA-based technologies.Experience in a research or industry setting focused on mRNA technologies.Experience with reagent preparation, antibody/protein/RNA/DNA analysis, and operation.Performing PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, IVT for mRNA, Dot blot, and immunofluorescence.Working in a GLP/GMP facilityHow you will thrive:

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT
The work environment is a laboratory/office setting, and the appropriate PPE will be required in designated areas. The Associate Scientist may travel up to 10% to other Avantor locations, vendor, or customer sites to support activities and receive appropriate training. This is a full-time position.
