Global Lead Investigator
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will be part of the Process Automation Business Area and the Legal & Integrity team. You will collaborate with Human Resources colleagues to effectively investigate various workplace issues, ranging from low to medium severity. These issues include, but are not limited to, harassment, bullying, workplace respect and fairness, conflicts of interest, and alcohol or substance abuse. Additionally, you will assist in providing basic advice and counsel related to ABB’s Code of Conduct and applicable integrity laws and regulations.Key responsibilities: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace complaints and allegations, including harassment, discrimination, and policy breaches.Ensure proper case administration and timely investigations to meet set deadline KPIs, along with thorough documentation through reports or in the system.Interview employees, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather information and evidence.Analyze evidence and compile detailed, objective reports with findings and recommendations.Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure investigations align with company policies and legal requirements.Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Prepare detailed investigative reports, including case summaries and findings, and make recommendations for appropriate actions and resolutions.Convene and run disciplinary committees as needed, following up on any remediation actions from the committees.Submit cases for closure in accordance with the investigation framework, and track remediation actions from cases.Support the Lead Investigator in delivering upskilling training to the HR team and the business, including preparing Business Area-specific training materials and communications, scheduling meetings, and assisting in training delivery.Assist the Lead Investigator in assessing the effectiveness of the integrity program.Provide recommendations for corrective actions and improvements to prevent future issues.
Qualifications for the roleTo be successful in this role, you need to have a degree in Law or postgraduate studies in Law or Compliance, along with over four years of professional experience in HR investigations. Experience in investigating various HR topics is essential, as is a general understanding of labor law regulations. You bring an independent character and a strong sense of integrity, complemented by excellent communication and influencing skills. Your high attention to detail and strong drafting abilities are critical, as is your capacity to thrive in a fast-changing environment. Fluency in English is required, and additional languages will be considered a bonus. Lastly, maintaining confidentiality and making ethical decisions are paramount in your approach to this role.
