Job Title: Associate Software Engineer - ERP Developer
Job Description
We are looking to hire an Associate Software Engineer – ERP Developer, with excellent technical and communication skills, to effectively collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop functionality and enhancements for the ERP. In his/her day-to-day operations, the ERP Developer will also resolve production issues and perform other duties as assigned, that align with the role’s responsibilities and are required for the business.
This role provides an opportunity to join our ERP team. While focused on professional development and hands-on training with various ERPs, you'll be responsible for the design, support and implementation of IT processes. You will provide support to functional areas by creating and communicating solutions to complex problems and projects.
This role transcends organizational and geographical boundaries as it aims to support and enable the various divisions of the Herman Miller business group across the globe. The ideal candidate should understand the software development lifecycle and use agile methodology (SCRUM) to design, develop, test and implement solutions that deliver on end-user needs.
Responsibilities
Take responsibility for installing, upgrading, and patching all ERP and enterprise-level software.Design, develop, and maintain production, development, testing, and training environments.Control access to these environments in compliance with SOX regulations.Migrate software changes to these environments in compliance with SOX regulations.Create, update, monitor, and troubleshoot ERP batch job scheduling.ERP system administration, including but not limited to administration of user/permission, workflow, and interfaces.Troubleshoot ERP system and data problem via Microsoft SQL scripting, log analysis, etc.Present work output in a clear and concise manner.Apply advanced problem-solving skills and execute solutions to complex problems independently.Apply learned IT skills to work assignments.Coach and mentor IT tasks and skills to others.Develop and implement IT processes.Identify opportunities and own improvements to technologies and IT processes.Lead, define, and complete complex IT tasks independently. You may also lead small projects.Manage and hold accountability for project completions.Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.Ideal candidate
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems (IS), or another engineering / relevant discipline (preferred).Should have more than four years of experience in Microsoft SQL and ERP development projects.Development and administration experience with relational databases systems such as SQL Server, or MySQL.Experience working with Microsoft Windows server operating systems.Programming and tuning experience with Microsoft SQL and proprietary extensions such as Microsoft's T-SQL.The ability to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and function well in a self-directed, team-oriented environment.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communications skills and the ability to work well in team environments.A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently being used in the Herman Miller office environment.Experience with 2020 Insight (preferred).A proficient understanding of and ability to identify how technology solves business problems.Our Values
