Associate Software Engineer
Job Summary

Red Hat Global Engineering is looking for an Associate Software Engineer who is intrigued by how things work and constantly looks for ways to make them better. In this role, you will not just be a tester, you will also be a developer who designs, automates, and finds creative ways to solve potential problems. You'll be required to interpret test requirements from customer use cases and develop innovative automated solutions for the testing of real-world customer workflows in test environments.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain test environments and automated test suitesDevelop test cases in Python and maintain a thorough understanding of the functionality of our offeringsEnsure continued quality of existing features and assess the quality of newly developed and planned features a products strategic directionContribute to our test automation frameworkContribute to test tooling projects related to deploying test environments and infrastructure, automating test pipelines, reporting test results, etc.Deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely mannerExplore, Identify and document new bugs clearly and accuratelyWork in a fast-paced agile environment Work with other teams internally

Required Skills

Python experienceExperience with Linux or UNIX systemsExperience with Git or other source control technologiesInterest in testing and investigating how things work internallyAbility to coordinate and help others solve difficult problemsGood written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to work on a fast-paced project

The following is considered a plus:

Understanding of container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes,  any cloud (Aws/Azure/GCE) knowledge.Configuration management, e.g., Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Chef, or Puppet, experienceExperience with continuous integration (CI) or CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis and creating test pipelinesExperience using or participating in open source projectsExperience performing web interface automation using Selenium

The salary range for this position is $82,910.00 - $132,540.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
