Associate Software Engineer - RHEL and CI/CD (Brno Office, Czech Republic)

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join us.  In this position you will help shape the next generation of Linux storage management, both upstream and in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) solutions.  You will collaborate with the open source community, focusing on developing and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure, storage products, and management tools.  You will  work as part of an international team of Linux experts, and you’ll be involved with the direction, design, and implementation of our innovative software. You will help maintain our open source code for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Successful applicants must reside in a state or country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

Be responsible for our product quality by: participating in peer code reviews, continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD), and responding to software security issuesWork with engineering, quality engineering (QE), support, documentation, and the open source communityImprove the current build systems and testing frameworksDevelop functional and regression test casesContribute new development work, including unit and integration testsBackport fixes to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) releasesSet and communicate goals, dates, deliverables, etc.

What you will bring

Basic software development experienceFamiliarity with Linux storage technologies and conceptsExpertise in Python, C language is a plusKnowledge of version control systems, such as Git.Experience with open source software is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishGood understanding of Red Hat based Linux distributions configuration  (Fedora and Centos Stream) is a plusExperience with gitlab CI/CD (managing custom self-managed CI runners) is a big plus
