This is a hybrid role with the first three months in the office.
Eversource is looking for an Associate Specialist, Siting to support Transmission located in Westwood, MA. In this role you will assist with coordination of timely regulatory filings which include, but are not limited to, petitions, sub-petitions, or other similar filings specific to state siting, municipal zoning, state departments of transportation, state and private railroads and other related state agencies, as may be required, ensuring consistency with the regulatory requirements and managing the process for securing these approvals. May assist in the development of major (application or petition) filings. Assist with compliance with conditions of approvals. Assist in siting needs assessment for Connecticut, Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire projects with input from Siting Specialists, Project Managers and Project Leads.
Essential Functions:
Assists in performing siting needs assessments and developing the Siting strategy for individual projects.
Assists with the preparation of formal applications, petitions, sub-petitions or similar filings specific to state siting, municipal zoning, state departments of transportation, state and private railroads and other related state agencies for siting new or upgrading existing transmission and substation facilities, as assigned.
Coordinates associated inputs, testimony, data request responses by technical disciplines.
Supports the compliance assurance process and responsible Siting team member(s) regarding Project adherence to conditions of siting approvals and/or permits.
Achieves and maintains proficiency with applicable siting procedures, regulations, and orders to ensure consistency and incorporate evolving direction from submittal to submittal.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with internal stakeholders to the siting process.
Supports preparations, evaluations, recommendations, and comments for proposed changes in regulatory and permitting policies or for generic proceedings.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Understanding of electric transmission, electric utilities, and/or the energy field desired. Understanding of siting or similar regulatory process or the electric industry generally preferred.
Strong written and oral communication and influence skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple inputs for various projects from cross functional teams including, but not limited to, engineers, attorneys, real estate and environmental professionals and outreach/communications personnel.
Ability to analyze information, determine facts and make decisions and recommendations in a timely manner.
Ability to interact effectively with customers and outside stakeholders, as needed.
Proficient in the use of information technology and office automation systems.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in legal, planning, public policy, regulatory, or similar or related field, or equivalent experience in relevant field(s) or disciplines.
Experience:
0-3 years of related experience
Utility or energy field experience preferred, but not required
Minimum knowledge and/or experience in regulatory or legal proceedings is preferred, but not required
Fluency in languages other than English a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $70,000 - $78,500 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for a fill list of benefits.

Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License required
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH, as necessary.
