Associate Specialist-Sub Custody Finance

The Associate Specialist-Sub Custody Finance role is an individual contributor post that will have responsibility for various functions of London based Sub Custody Finance (SCF) activities.

The selected candidate should have subject matter expertise related to sub custody functions and operations and be comfortable working individually or collaboratively.

Additional responsibilities include:

Providing oversight of governance, regulatory and audit activities and creating repetitive automated process to support the needs of the business and management. Supporting various monthly reporting activities and Business Unit projects. Utilising judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problemsBeing guided by policies and procedures of the sub custody team to contribute to the department and business partnersSupporting Country Managers (market SMEs) in sourcing activities related to new and transitioning markets. Assuring the company and regulatory policies are being adhered to.Utilising governance in establishing and maintaining detailed procedure analysis documents for London and Bangalore based team functions.Providing primary oversight on annual SOX certification and other internal/external audits. Having primary responsibility for vendor updatesReviewing and submitting monthly bank data.Assisting in monthly financial reporting activities including attributions, trend reporting, commentaries on expense movements and review of forecast.Responsible for L1 invoice approval and sign off.Responsible for updating and maintaining sub custody terms & agreements in central repository. Providing support on projects related to Sub Custody.Creating reports for senior management and for use on Northern Trust Intranet & SharePoint sites, as directed by Manager.Supporting project work and ad Hoc requests to support the team and provide data to business leaders for strategic decision making.Developing periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.

The ideal candidate should have a fair amount of the following qualities and skills:

Can work independently utilising reports and bank data to validate fees, identify trends and provide results to Senior level management.Proven experience in utilising Excel including VLOOKUP and IF statements.Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas to improve efficiencyProven ability to explain information, convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issuesKnowledge in applying standards or best practices; strict adherence to controls.Analytical, problem-solving skills, technical skills and systems knowledgeExcellent communication skills; verbal, non-verbal and writtenExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritizing accordingly.A University degree and or experience in a relevant background Sub custody related experience is a huge plus.
