Position Overview:
Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for a Structural and Payload Design Engineer to join their team in Kennedy Space Center or Titusville, FL.
Position Responsibilities:
Support Boeing and NASA SLS, and other customers as required
Perform 3D simulations to verify new designs, planning and operations
Assist with the Planning, coordination and execution of assigned tasks
Ability to assist with and eventually execute 3D scanning and Tracker tasks.
Will be trained to post-process point cloud data and update CAD models with the data collected.
Able to work in non-airconditioned SLS vehicle processing areas, outdoors, and the occasional requirement to work at heights.
Conduct meetings in TEAMS and F2F to discuss study results and findings to teams of your peers
Excellent communication and organizational skills
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facilities.
This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)
Experience interpreting model-based engineering or 2D engineering drawings to develop technical illustrations
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Experience with CATIA, Nx, CREO, Realworks, iCiDO, Polyworks, GOM
Experience with 3D laser Scanners and trackers
Experience capturing and working with 3D point clouds
Familiarization with Kennedy Spade Center and the various launch and processing facilities
Experience planning tasks, working on a team, safety awareness
Interest/experience with VR, gaming SW, photo and video editing.
Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing).

Summary pay range: $75,650 - $102,350
