The Associate Talent Acquisition Analyst, or Recruiter, will serve as a collaborative partner with departmental hiring managers in finding solutions to department hiring needs. (This is a County Promotional Only recruitment. Only current employees of the County of San Mateo may apply.) Your role: + Develop creative and inclusive recruitment and selection strategies in partnership with hiring managers. + Initiate and direct recruitment activities, including evaluating applicant qualifications, creating and administering effective examination processes, and providing guidance to hiring managers in the selection process. + Interact with a variety of individuals including job applicants, department heads, hiring managers, the County Executive and his staff, the Civil Service Commission, labor unions, County committees, and other stakeholders. + Ensure the equitable administration of the County's personnel policies. + Actively promote employment opportunities by representing the County at job fairs and sourcing candidates individually or through professional associations. What you will need: + At least one year of professional administrative experience. Transferrable professional administrative work experiences include organizing and managing office operations; providing support to executives; or handling inquiries, troubleshooting issues, or managing projects. + Basic research and report-writing skills. + Knowledge of the principles and practices of County operations, administration, and organization. + Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal formats. + Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from all levels of the organization and applicants. + Experience performing work that requires strong analytical skills in addressing a wide variety of complex issues and making effective recommendations. Unless already possessing at least three years of relevant recruitment experience, successful candidates for this position will be considered for the Associate Management Analyst level only. Progression to the higher-level Management Analyst classification will be based on performance and the County’s step progression guidelines. Note: The eligible list generated from this recruitment will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future extra-help, limited term, unclassified, and regular classified vacancies. Depending on the number of applicants, the interview may be waved, and eligibility list ranking will be based on the Application Screening. All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination process.
