Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Associate Team Lead assists in managing the departmental processes and will support Building 5 Warehouse Upstream Logistics. Oversees, assigns and participates in work activities to meet goals of the department and is responsible to the Department Manager for the efficient operation of his or her assigned area(s). The Associate Team Lead will participate in the direct labor function of the department on a daily basis.Provides data that is used to measure department performance.Under the direction of the department manager, assigns tasks to the work force in order to meet customer order shipment dates, domestic and international completion dates as driven by customer orders. Assists in establishing work teams for overlapping coverage.Assists with ensuring work force is trained according to established procedures.Provides input, as needed, to department manager regarding employee performance.Pulls and packs orders to ensure accuracy and efficiencies; moves product. Checks lot numbers; package weights and prepares carrier documentation. Maintains warehouse and work areas following 5S principles, and participates in 5S audits.Receives and processes product from manufacturing or suppliers; ensures parts are properly identified and labeled.Stocks product after approval for use in a manner to maintain 5S, inventory accuracy and safety.Counts physical inventory of all raw materials and finished goods in the warehouses and coolers as required.Processes all required paperwork to ensure the material transactions occur for all departmental activities. Assists in the development of new procedures as needed.Maximize accuracy, minimize errors and increase inventory accuracy of all parts processed.May need to drive a truck for material transport.Education, Skills, & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, Logistics, or Supply Chain. Must have knowledge of materials management and inventory accuracy principles.Knowledge of Kaizen and 5S principles is a strong plus.Requires proficiency with PCs, including Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Outlook).Must have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.Ability to use material handling equipment such as a floor jack, hand truck, order picker, and forklift is required.This position also requires strong attention to detail to ensure inventory and record accuracy.Truck driving experience preferred.Working Conditions:Excellent personal hygiene required. Appropriate gowning requirements necessary for the production areas. Must be able to climb ladders to reach high shelving.Must be able to stand for long periods of time#biojobs
