Job Description:

We’re looking for an Associate Technical Specialist to join our Global Operations Command Center (GOCC) team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to complete activities associated with providing the 24/7/365 operations required to maintain Manulife’s infrastructure and IT services by identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing events and incidents and completing service requests and BAU tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain databases to ensure data integrity and availability.Optimize database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.Implement security measures to protect the database from unauthorized access.Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Information TechnologyExperience: 2 to 3 years’ experience in supporting applications in production environments running on Linux and Windows. Relevant experience in Incident, Change and Problem Management.Work Arrangement: As part of a 24/7/365 operation, this is an Office based shift role.Shift Schedule: Shift patterns are based on 11-hour shifts alternating between morning and night shifts monthly. Shift patterns may change or revert to 8-hour shifts as management and business needs change.Minimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves: Expert proficiency in Oracle Database Administration.Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.Strong understanding of database concepts and architecture. Experience in performance tuning and optimization.Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.Experience with database security and access control.Proficiency in SQL, mySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and DB2.
