About you and this role Supports customer needs in the packaging market by assisting in the development of new packaging applications and by providing technical knowledge on the use, handling and management of Dow products. In this role, you will require conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures as well as having general business knowledge developed through education or prior experience related to your discipline and functional area. You will need to have the ability to exchange straightforward information with others and ask questions to check for understanding. It is your responsibility to use established procedures and practice to analyze and resolve standard problems. You will be accountable for assigned contributions with no direct supervisory responsibilities. Your performance impacts your own work with limited impact on your team. Responsibilities + Developing value-creating solutions for our customers’ challenges (with defined scope and impact). + Effectively applying the scientific method to solve technical issues. + Investigate and resolve customer product quality and performance complaints to positively impact customer experience. + With the support of senior colleagues, formulating hypotheses, conducting experiments, generating reproducible data, interpreting results, and modifying hypotheses accordingly. + Leading projects toqualifyour products to our customers. Developing prototypes and applications, testing properties, generating well-organized data. + You are at the heart of innovation: participating in brainstorming sessions to support the development of intellectual capital. + Responsibly protecting Dow’s intellectual capital when working with customers through appropriate use of secrecy and joint development agreements. + Getting an understanding of Dow’s technologies and the interaction of those technologies in multiple applications. + Serving as a source of information for the project team and stakeholders. + Provide general support/guidance to a small technical sub team of a larger, well-defined project. Qualifications + A minimum of a Masters Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or Science-related discipline is required. + Solid understanding of chemical/mechanical engineering principles to be applied to synthesis, characterization, formulation, application development, optimization of processes + Professional experience is a plus + Data science skills are a plus + Dependable and responsible; you collaborate well in a team environment, but you are also capable of working with minimal supervision. + Excellent communicator!
