Belmont University seeks nominations, applications, and expressions of interest in its search for an accomplished and visionary executive to serve as the Associate Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer to advance a people-centered strategy grounded in Belmont's Strategic Pathway to 2030.

The Associate Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will join the University at a time of significant momentum with the arrival of Dr. L. Gregory Jones as President in 2021 and as the community advances its exciting "God-sized trajectory" with it is Strategic Pathway to 2030 that is laser-focused on whole person formation, data-informed social innovation, integrative approaches to health and well-being, embracing hope and inclusivity, and storytelling that inspires the world.
Reporting to Dr. Susan West, Chief of Staff and Executive Vice President for Administration, the CHRO is the principal steward of the human capital and workplace effectiveness at Belmont, providing institutional leadership and service to further Belmont's strategic goals. The CHRO provides vision, leadership, best and emerging strategies, and management for repositioning human resources as a valued people-centered organization.
The core of this charge is shaping a workplace culture that becomes known for being one of the best places to work in Nashville and in the United States. This requires the development of a competitive and meaningful employee experience, modernizing and sophisticating the human resources organization, cultivating a sense of hospitality, community, and care, and elevating the strategic orientation and service delivery of human resources. Areas of opportunity to enhance the people experience, among others, include building capabilities within the HR team to support the institution with workforce planning, career pathing, cohesive training and development, creating programs that support employee engagement, succession planning, recognition, and retention, employee relations, compensation, classification and benefits as well as onboarding. Thus, the CHRO will serve as an institutional change agent, crafting a culture of excellence and agility and improving Belmont's organizational capacity to continue to grow, evolve, and change.
