Associate Vice President, Programs and Membership

Job Summary: The AVP of Programs and Membership is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs (Healthy Living, Youth Sports, Community Health, Youth and Family Programs, Aquatics) and membership initiatives. This role fosters community engagement, improves member experiences, and drives membership growth. The AVP will lead a dedicated team to ensure that the YMCA's programs and services meet the highest standards of quality and impact. Program Management: + Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that meet community needs. + Ensure programs are inclusive, diverse, and accessible to all members of the community. + Collaborate with branch operations to integrate programs across the organization. Membership Development: + Develop and execute strategies to attract, retain , and engage members. + Monitor membership trends and implement initiatives to enhance member satisfaction. + Utilize data and feedback to drive improvements in membership services and offerings. Team Leadership: + Lead and mentor a team of program directors and membership coordinators. + Provide ongoing professional development and performance management for staff. + Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. Community Engagement: + Build strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and members. + Represent the YMCA at community events and meetings. + Advocate for the YMCA's mission and values within the community. Financial Management: + Develop and manage budgets for programs and membership departments. + Ensure financial sustainability and accountability for all programs and membership initiatives. + Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support program and membership growth. Code of Conduct for Applicants (https://seattleymca.icims.com/icims2/servlet/icims2?module=AppInert&action=download&id=191063&hashed=999166779) Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS + Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, membership development, or a related field. + Proven leadership experience in a non-profit or community organization. + Strong strategic planning and organizational skills. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build inclusive communities. + Passion for the mission and values of the YMCA. Preferred Qualifications: + Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). + The ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.  Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered. Expected Hours of Work:  Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
