Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent education (High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of transferrable program/functional experience.)
Experience relevant to the role of the position.
Must have an Intermediate Level Competency utilizing the software necessary for performing work responsibilities: Windows, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. Should have a familiarity with other survey and communication tools such as Qualtrics and Lyris.
Must be detail oriented with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality relating to client and volunteer matters.
Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, calculator, fax, printers, laminators, shredder.
Ability to maintain files current and orderly.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively.
Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions.
Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and visual means.
Data entry experience.
Willingness to learn new skills and information.
Experience in, or familiarity with the agriculture industry (e.g., production agriculture, food systems, animal husbandry).
Position Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Program Delivery - 10%
Utilize established program resources and materials in providing information and resources to program participants in established Association program areas.
Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and programming staff to achieve Association program delivery goals.
Administrative Direction - 5%
Assist Program Educators and other program staff with administrative tasks in the planning of educational programs, including appropriate use and type of social media to disseminate information.
Assist with identifying, anticipating, recommending and planning for assigned program needs/supplies.
Provide administrative assistance in planning the direction of mass media efforts.
Administrative Management - 5%
Assist in solving problems and resolving conflicts that arise in the assigned programming areas in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
Provide routine non-complex administrative management of established educational program goals.
Assist in guiding the implementation of the program area budgets.
Provide administrative tasks in guiding the implementation of communication strategies.
May provide supervision and guidance to volunteers performing similar work as applicable.
Administrative Coordination/Operation - 75%
Provide administrative support for program areas to include, but not limited to: answering and directing telephone and email communications, general correspondence, preparing for program meetings (e.g., agendas, meeting minutes), filing, document printing, scanning & copying, support for technology needs, etc.
Provide administrative support to include, but not limited to: data entry and reporting in support of programming and grant reporting requirements, managing class/workshop/event registrations, assist with accounts payable vouchers and receipts documentation.
Responsible for inputting data for Association annual programming numbers and statistical data.
Help coordinate, compile, acquire, and organize existing program resources and program materials.
Provide administrative support for the coordination and implementation of web based and multi-media efforts in the promotion of programming including maintaining website presences.
Draft press releases, flyers, program brochures and newsletters for review by program leaders for eventual distribution as appropriate.
Under the direction of the program leaders, coordinate and assist with special projects and outreach efforts as instructed.
Assist with program evaluation to include: collecting evaluation and needs assessment forms from program participants for all assigned program areas as appropriate.
Effectively maintain existing professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication and facilitate continued programming efforts.
This position may require the transport of program participants and/or program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned -5%
In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
Attend personal trainings as requested/required.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.

Support the association to maintain a safe working environment.
Be familiar and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.
Act proactively to prevent accidents/injuries and communicate hazards to supervisors when identified.

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-exempt position with an expectation of 37.5 hrs/week, 5 days per week. Starting hourly pay rate of $17 - $19/hr. Employee will be working from both the Schoharie and Otsego county offices.
