MITER Brands also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGT Innovations, is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are looking for an Assistant General Counsel.  In this role you will report to the Company’s General Counsel and play a vital role in some of the Company’s most strategic priorities. This role will provide legal counsel, subject matter expertise, and guidance on a wide range of disciplines, including transactional, litigation/claims, corporate governance, intellectual property, real estate, labor and employment, mergers and acquisitions, risk management and regulatory compliance. The Senior Legal Counsel will partner closely with the General Counsel and other members of the Legal Department, outside counsel and department leaders to identify issues of the highest risk facing the organization and propose and drive solutions to address them.

Pay Range:  147k - 184k, depending on experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide counsel and advice to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders to assist in setting the Company’s legal strategy on a broad range of matters related to new initiatives, improvement of existing policies and procedures and other corporate, transactional, dispute resolution and regulatory matters Stay informed of industry-specific statutes, rules and regulations and conduct legal research and analysis to stay current on changes that may impact the Company Draft, review, advise on and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including corporate, employment and commercial contracts Effectively coordinate and manage outside counsel Assist with the improvement of the Legal Department processes to increase efficiency and mitigate legal risks

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

JD from an accredited law school Bar membership in good standing 5 – 10 years of experience, preferably at least 4 years in an in-house role Experience managing complex corporate, commercial and regulatory legal matters Strong leadership, analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to: handle multiple projects and responsibilities, working both independently and as a strong collaborator; develop innovative legal and risk management strategies; and tailor legal advice that is well-calibrated to the most junior and senior levels of the organization.
