ASSISTANT GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT

Starting Salary: $99,456; Grade BX-20

Under direction, assists General Superintendent in managing the operations of a bureau responsible for infrastructure programs, and performs related duties as required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· ​ Assists in developing and aligning organizational objectives and program goals to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery for Chicago residents.

Evaluates field operations, conducting assessments to measure program effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency, and prepares detailed performance reports.Provides leadership to field supervisors, ensuring the seamless implementation of new policies, procedures, and best practices within the department.Coordinates with supervisors to monitor daily operations, manage citywide events, address emergency situations, and ensure the timely achievement of departmental goals.Collaborates with departmental managers to implement and manage new infrastructure projects, citywide events, and team-oriented initiatives.Represents the Department of Streets and Sanitation at community meetings, delivering information on departmental services, programs, and initiatives.Oversees personnel and union matters, ensuring compliance with labor agreements and addressing employee concerns in a timely manner.Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and implement strategies for continuous operational improvements.
