Asylum Seekers Case Management Intern- UNPAID

About the job:
This person will play a vital role in supporting CMPP staff with both program creation and program implementation, ensuring the smooth operation of program activities. They will be supporting with data entry on multiple data management systems, creating flyers and program materials for both CMPP staff and for public dissemination, supporting caseworkers as they provide direct services to IRC clients, and performing administrative tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities:
Enter data into several data management systems and ensure the accuracy of data
Support caseworkers with administrative tasks and in program implementation
Communicate with partner organizations to assess their capacities and update referral methods
Create public-facing program materials
Assist in program design and development tasks
Assist with in-person intake and enrollment days in downtown LA (about three days a month, usually consecutive)
Assist with other tasks as needed

Intern benefits:
The intern will gain experience in program design and development, allowing them to understand the process behind creating a new program that responds to a gap identified in the community.
The intern will learn about how data is collected, tracked, and reported to donors for government-funded NGO projects.
The intern will gain experience in providing direct services to vulnerable populations.

Requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
Experience in creating flyers and creative program materials on Canva or similar software
Fluent in spoken and written English
Interest in working with migrants and supporting vulnerable populations
Good organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and competing deadlines at once
Ability to pay attention to detail
Has reliable transportation and is able to work from the office at least two days a week
Ability to find creative and practical solutions to obstacles
Ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing procedures and information that is constantly evolving
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Takes initiative and is a self-starter
Eager to learn and grow in the non-profit sector
Excellent Spanish language ability is an advantage

Experience in Data Analysis, Technology, and related fields are preferred
