ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-
In collaboration with the Director of Sports Marketing, create a marketing, communication, and performance plan for athletes on the Skechers Performance – Team Sports roster, including Basketball, Soccer, and Baseball.Manage day-to-day athlete and agent relationships while ensuring all contractual obligations are met, including but not limited to securing products, executing marketing plans, managing social media content calendars, etc. Work with each athlete/agent to understand their performance product needs as well as their casual style preferences.In collaboration with the Product Development team, manage athlete design/testing of all technical styles (production and player edition) while gathering feedback from professional athletes on fit and function of new products.Ensure athletes are wearing the highest-caliber products specific to their individual needs.Communicate the key product offerings to each managed athlete and agent.Work with the athletes/agents to identify and support their charitable initiatives.Conceptualize and execute innovative and “game-changing” athlete projects and initiatives that bring the athlete and brand personality to life.Work with Strategic Partnerships team to build social media strategies surrounding key product launches and events.Ensure athletes are unveiling upcoming launches on social media.Work with Strategic Partnerships to ensure assets are created specific to the launches – social/digital/etc.Collaborate regularly with Athlete Marketing Coordinator regarding updates on all key documents/assets, including:Athlete Game ScheduleAthlete Footwear Shipment TrackingAthlete Appearance SchedulesManage the forecasting of promotional footwear and apparel on a quarterly basis.Monitor inventory levels and depletion of inventory.Liaise with other internal departments, such as Product, Retail, Visual Merchandising, Graphics, Advertising, Strategic Partnerships and PR.Develop and maintain best in class relationships for Skechers with athletes and partners.Work with Sports Marketing colleagues to pinpoint potential future basketball athletes/ambassadors that align with the Skechers goals and initiatives.Ensure these athletes are on the executive team’s radar and poised to be on the rosterWhen appropriate, establish strong connection to potential future athletes, agents, etc.
Work with Director of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships team on athlete agreements and contracts.Collaborate and work in a team environment with other sports and marketing team members

Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.The right candidate has experience in sports marketing and/or athlete management preferably within the basketball space.Ability to create, establish and maintain strong business centered interpersonal relationships with athletes, agents, family and friends.Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high pressure, ever-changing environment. Ability to adapt to a variety of situations.Proactive and resourceful, with a can-do attitude and roll-up-your-sleeves approach.Understands social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, and TikTok.Professional image and behavior. General availability to support the department outside of regular working hours when necessary.Ability to work with both domestic and international markets, flexing to meet their working hours as needed.Moderate travel.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-
Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing, Marketing or related discipline preferred.6-8 years of relationship management; specific experience with athletes, teams, influencers and/or media.Proven ability to lead and influence others to accomplish strategic objectives.Success driving change and achieving business results.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to the audience.Proven ability to digest complex information and communicate in a compelling/simplistic manner to cross-functional teams.Former collegiate athlete preferred.Passion for basketball, sports and fitness.The pay for this position is $100,000-$120,000.
