About the Position: The Director of Athletics provides leadership and administrative responsibility for the university’s comprehensive athletic program. In addition to faculty and staff supervision and budget management, the Director aligns university athletics with the institution’s strategic priorities and partners with Enrollment Management on external relations endeavors including fundraising, marketing, promotions, and public relations. This role is critical in leading university compliance with NCAA and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rules and regulations. Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement and serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Director of Athletics collaborates closely with administrative leaders to foster a culture of student athlete success. This is a full-time/at-will administrator position. The salary range is $108,596-$173,093 with salary placement based upon qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:   The minimum qualifications for the position include (1) a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Athletics Administration, Sports Management or related field; (2) A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience within an NCAA institution, athletic conference, national office or a combination of five years of athletic administration and senior-level business administration experience; (3) Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a complex organization that serves multiple constituencies; (4) Evidence of skills in fiscal planning, budget management, and personnel management; (5) Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; (6) Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders in fostering a positive and inclusive environment; and (7) Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
