2 openings available. WPU seeks a highly motivated and eager graduate assistant to be part of our growing team. Our current structure consist of multiple Graduate Assistants and Interns along with a heavy amount of Work Study. Our Athletic Operations Team invests heavily in giving graduate assistants real-life work duties that will uniquely prepare them for high-level roles. Alumni of the program have worked in the MLS, NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) D1, NAIA, high school and corporate opportunities within sport such as Musco Sports Lighting and DVSport. Graduate Assistants will gain hands-on experience with many, if not all WPU sponsored sports. This position will be in both a game-day manager role for varsity sports and administrator role for varsity reserve sports through a variety of tasks and projects. Along with game-day management, this position will include being a facility manager for our Athletic venues, additional duties are also available to customize the experience and the interest of team members. Examples of these additional duties are Internal Department Operations, Facility Projects, Capital Project Research, Facility Scheduling, Entertainment Planning, Special Events, Employee Management, Fan Engagement, Apparel Sales & Ordering, Ticketing, Crowd Control, Promotions, Video Board Operation and Concessions.

Events hosted include the Heart of America Conference Men's & Women's Wrestling Championship, NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Rounds, NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Opening Rounds, Heart of America Men's Basketball Conference Championship, Women's Volleyball Fall Classic, Heart of America Golf Championships and the Heart of America Conference Outdoor Track Championship.

Bachelor’s Degree required   

Must be Accepted into a WPU Graduate Program 

Background in Recreation & Athletics

Has a Desire to Pursue a Career in Athletics 

Good Attitude and Positive Mindset Team Mindset Demonstrated talent in building a cohesive team Independent decision making and ability to exercise good judgment;  Exceptional written and oral communication skills;  Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks and meeting deadlines; Organizational skills, time management, relationship building, and problem-solving skills essential; Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends
